Walking
The GT is situated in great walking country. We have a selection of walking routes for serious walkers wanting to explore the Dales and the Moors and can recommend short local walks.
Golf

There's also a choice of courses around Harrogate, Ripon, York and Leeds – Moor Allerton at Leeds being a well-known competition course.
Racing
The famous Knavesmire course at York which was home to the Royal Ascot meeting in 2005 is just half an hour from The GT and Ripon, Thirsk and Wetherby (National Hunt) racecourses are all close by. For the details of all the Yorkshire courses visit
Flight Simulator
Right on our doorstep at Arkendale is the unique opportunity to fly your very own Boeing 737 or Phantom F4. The only professional training centre to open its doors to the public.
Hot Air Ballooning
Take a champagne flight from a mile down the road to view the rolling hills and patchwork of the Dales to the east and the open countryside towards York.
Horse Riding
There are plenty of local stables and trekking centres.

Motor Racing
Croft Circuit offers the best driving experience in the North of England so if you've dreamt of steering a Ferrari or Porsche round one of the top circuits this is your chance.
