Welcome to The General Tarleton
The General Tarleton Inn at Ferrensby
An old coaching inn with contemporary comforts, The General Tarleton Inn is in the pretty village of Ferrensby close to both York and Harrogate. Owned and run by John and Claire Topham for the past 12 years, the GT is constantly evolving but always sticks to the basic philosophy of offering great service and excellent food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere and if you are staying the night a comfortable room to rest your head.
People come to The General Tarleton Inn for all sorts of reasons - for lunch or dinner, for a drink, for a chance to explore Yorkshire’s beautiful scenery, for an escape from work or even to do some work. Local attractions include historic York, Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripon plus the picture postcard villages, historic houses and famous abbey ruins of the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors.
We regularly welcome returning guests who come just to enjoy The General Tarleton Inn’s relaxed and unstuffy atmosphere and, of course, the excellent food.

Please note: The General Tarleton operates a No Smoking policy
